Vehicle Assembly and Service Technician

The drive to enhance our processes and operations places us as a leader in the field of USV operations and capabilities.

As a Vehicle Assembly & Service Technician, I assemble and dissemble saildrones, and deploy and recover them. Getting these jobs done involves plenty of logistics and public interfacing with onsite partners. I’ve learned to troubleshoot and test the various components, sensors, and instrumentation of our USVs.

Traveling globally with the company has been a great opportunity to solve unique problems as they arise in the field, while building expertise in component assembly.

Continuous improvement is the ethic behind the way my team does things. Saildrone has a “can do” culture. It’s a teamwork-driven company, and recent transitions in workflow have streamlined cross-training and efficiency. An individual can gain skills across operations, engineering, and USV technology.

My first trip to the Bahamas was for a very unique recovery and disassembly!

Every recovery and disassembly is different; solving those problems is something I enjoy.

The use of technology to impact the maritime domain in a progressive way was what inspired me to join Saildrone, as well as getting involved in the real-world operations of USVs.

I’m responsible for seeing a project through from commencement to completion. Working within this industry niche and being a part of the process that keeps our saildrones collecting ocean data engages me day-to-day.
