Vehicle Assembly and Service Lead

My role at Saildrone is about keeping missions moving forward—no matter the environment, the challenge, or the conditions on the ground.

My work focuses on preparing vehicles for missions and keeping them operational once they’re deployed. That means solving technical, logistical, and tactical problems in real time, while coordinating the right people and resources to keep deployments on track.

I’ve supported a variety of missions operating across the US, the Middle East, and Europe. While the environments constantly change, the objective stays the same: maintain momentum regardless of the conditions.

One week, we’re managing a deployment in the heat of the Gulf; the next, we’re in Copenhagen facing an unexpected freeze during a spring recovery. Moments when we are solving problems side-by-side in challenging environments are what define the job and make it so rewarding.

Over time, I’ve taken the lead on our field operations. My responsibilities include aligning our teams, guiding real-time decision-making, and ensuring mission continuity, with direct accountability to the client. Much of the role comes down to providing direction under pressure so the team can make the best call with the information available.

Every deployment is different—whether it’s extreme heat or freezing conditions, we adapt and keep the mission moving.

The work itself stands out. It’s a continuous cycle of assembling, deploying, servicing, and recovering vehicles in remote and often demanding locations. Each mission is different, and that’s what keeps it interesting and engaging.
